  2. My favourite thing about Christmas is that it is one of the few times in the year where someone thinks about someone else before themselves

  3. My favourite part of Christmas is Xmas eve. 2 little boys, popcorn, hot chocolate, new Xmas PJ's, Xmas DVDs and the house filled with the magical anticipation of what will be xxx

  4. Spending time with family and friends for the whole day that I don't normally see a whole lot of. Seeing my little girl's face light up when she knows that we will be visiting grandmas

  5. All the fun leading up to the 'big' day. Seeing lots of family and friends, old and new. The most priceless gift, the gift of time, to spend on ourselves over the holiday season.

  10. My favourite part of gift giving at Christmas is picking the present out for each person so that the gift reflects some of the things that particular person likes in terms of hobbies or munchies. Occasionally I have someone who is just too difficult to buy for and then I give a donation to a charity in their name. I select a charity that I think they would appreciate. For example an animal lover, I'd give a gift to the RSPCA.

Christmas to me however is more than just gift giving. For friends and family, it is not gifts that they will remember about the Christmas season it is the people they were with and the memories created. In the end it will not matter whether a gift was given or received but the memories all will carry with them for many years to come!

  11. My favourite part of Christmas is the magic of the day in children's eyes...their faces when Santa has been, they joy spending time opening presents, the laughter and fun with family, watching the sparkle of Christmas lights...the singing of Christmas Carols! It is a truly magical day!

  12. I actually love Boxing Day most when everyone relaxes. My family seems to think Christmas Day must be a ridiculously complicated production so it's great to have out of the way.

  13. I love everything about Christmas. Spending time with family and friends, baking Christmas treats, shopping for gifts, the Christmas carols playing at shops, the hot weather, and sharing the magic of Christmas with my little boy. I could go on and on.. Christmas is my favourite time of year.

  14. The Tree. It seems to bring Christmas together. Its a symbol of hope, peace & family. Its the one thing about Christmas that everyone wants to participate in. Changing ornaments come and go, but the tree.... its everlasting :). It lights up the room to create a peaceful feeling, looks great day or night and it pulls the family together to sit around it, eat, drink, talk and share gifts. Love it and the feelings it brings and gives us :)

  15. Christmas is a combination of joy with my family all around, excellent food to be shared and then the midnight visit to church. All traditions I will happily hand down to the next generation.

  16. I love catching up with family. There are a lot of us, so it is indeed a very merry time. Good times full of love & laughter.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Spending quality down time with the family, just relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Things slow down out in rural areas around Christmas and it gives me a chance to relax, reflect and prepare for another year ahead.

  20. The thing that I love the most about Christmas is the opportunity to GIVE. I love to volunteer my time and give presents to the charities that need it the most at this time of year. And as an added bonus my children are off school so I get to spend some time with them and stop the crazy school routine!

  21. 5 whole days off, 4 happy kids, 3 festive meals, 2 lucky adults and a creditcard with a zero balance. (the last bit is a wish)

    ReplyDelete
  22. The giving at Christmas time...to my child, pets and family, to those who are in need, to the people stuck in hospital over the holiday season and most of all to Oxfam and World Vision so they too can be touched by the Spirit of Christmas...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Family and friends getting together.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love planning out presents that I know people will love and be excited for when they open them and I especially love watching their reactions. I'm always more excited to give than I am to receive!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Turkey, tinsel and Christmas cheer. Children's smiles that could last a year. A gorgeous decorated Christmas tree. Surrounded by cherished family!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love the excitement that it brings to the children, and spending time with loved ones over the holidays.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love eating my dad's oversized honey glazed ham!

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's the only day of the year when it's perfectly fine to have champagne, coconut ice and cashews for breakfast!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Travelling interstate and seeing the joy on the kids faces when they wake up and realise that Santa still managed to find them and hearing "Daddy, Santa must me magic how does he know how to to get to nanny's house in the bushback (outback)"

  30. I love that everything and everyone slows down and stops, if only for a brief period. It's madness before christmas, but time with family and friends allows for reflection.

  53. For as long as I can remember I've had a totally dysfunctional family... but in the last few years it has been slowly getting together. This year I will be hosting Christmas lunch & dinner with ALL the available family (22 people)- and that is what I love the most. This extends to girlfriends and their kids too!
I have 3 kids (2-7yo) so this is also a magic time for them! I love seeing their faces when the Christmas decorations go up... and then the presents in the morning. It is priceless. I am so grateful for my beautiful life.
