3 simple ways to organise your bills

Are you struggling to pay your bills on time because you don’t have a simple system in place to keep track of them?

Watch the video below or keep reading, because today I’ll show you 3 easy ways to organise your bills so you never miss a payment again!
It’s SO frustrating to get a bill reminder in the mail - especially if it’s written in red - saying missed your payment due date and you’re now accruing interest or paying extra in fines or “admin fees”.

I HATE the feeling you get when you’re behind on your bills. You feel stressed, guilty because you thought you were on top of things and now you have to rework the budget to allow for that missed payment and get ready for the next one due this month! So you kind of feel like you’re paying it twice and that just adds to the overwhelm.

Here’s the thing - it’s not that you aren’t good at budgeting - it’s that life gets in the way and sometimes you simply forget when bill is due because so much else is already going on.

Let’s make it really easy from now - I’m going to show you 3 simple ways you can organise your bills just pick the one that you think will fit in best with your life and you’ll never have to worry about overdue bills again.

The first solution is to keep them all in one spot. It could be a box on your kitchen counter, a file folder at your computer, or an envelope stuck on the back of your front door. Just create a space for your bills to go in until you’re ready to pay them. Then every Sunday night, collect them from that space, pay the ones that are due this week, and put the ones that aren’t due yet back in the envelope, file or box ready for next week.

The second simple way to organise your bills is to pay them regularly so the payment due date isn’t even relevant anymore. If you’re electricity bill is $300 a quarter, check with your provider and see if they’re cool with you paying $25 a week instead and if they are, set it up on your internet banking to do it for you every time you get paid. You don’t have to think about it anymore, you won’t get hit with big payments due anymore, and you’ll LOVE opening your bills and seeing you are in CREDIT every time.

And the third option is to pay your bills as soon as you open them. Literally, hold your smartphone while you collect your mail each day and as you walk into the house and open up your mail, pay your bills online with your phone before you put the papers down again. We’ve been doing this one for the past few years in our house and it’s made such a difference. The first couple of months were really tight on the budget - I’m talking rice and beans for dinner - because we were paying everything BEFORE it was actually due. But it was SO worth it to get ahead and the feeling you get when you pay that bill as soon as you open it and then the mental pressure for that bill just disappears - it’s amazing.

So there you have it! 3 easy ways to organise your bills and never miss a payment due date again.
