Easy DIY laundry Liquid - 4 ingredients

Since we started making our own laundry detergent, Georgia's eczema has been so much better!

Plus it's so quick and easy to make (not to mention amazing on the budget). Every 4 - 6 weeks I make up a new batch and it lakes less than 5 minutes.

In today's video I run you through the basics of how to make it, and the recipe is below if you want to give it a go yourself :)

Easy DIY Laundry Liquid

You will need:

  • 1 1/2 Tblspn Borax
  • 1 1/2 Tblspn Washing soda
  • 1 Tblspn Bronners
  • 2 cups hot water

Mix all ingredients together in a big bowl or jug until everything is dissolved,

Divide the mixture into 2 x 1 litre bottles and top each bottle with cold tap water.

Be careful with the borax, don’t get it on your hands as it can irritate sensitive skin especially on people prone to eczema.

To wash:

To wash 1 load, use 2 - 3 tblspns of laundry liquid.

We use the rose scented Bronners and it makes the washing smell amazing :)

Let me know if you give it a try!

  1. Bronners is the brand of "Castile soap" that she is using-here's the link to them in the AU-

  2. Yep, that's right, it's Dr Bronners Castile soap, thank you Latreille xx

  3. Is this the liquid soap??

  4. What do you use as a pre stain removal spray? or do you not need to use it. My Son has eczema too and I would love to give this a try.

    1. I use sunlight soap bars and just rub it on and leave it to soak, if the stain is fresh I scrub it with a scrubbing brush :)

  5. Keen to make this. Where do you get bronners from? And also can it be used in a front loader?
And why use it? To help the environment or just your budget? Or is it better on your skin over other products?
    Thanks, Anna

    1. Hi Anna, We get it from a local organics shop here, but you can buy it online as well: and it's on Amazon too if you need it globally xx

    2. I haven't tried front loader personally but I hear it works just as well. We're doing a bit of a less waste experiment this year at home, but it's been great on the budget and also on Georgia's eczema too.
